A mysterious man, whose head is completely covered in bandages, wants a room. The proprietors of the pub aren't used to making their house an inn during the winter months, but the man insists. The man quickly runs out of money, and he has a violent temper besides. Worse still, he seems to be some kind of chemist and has filled his room with messy chemicals, test tubes, beakers and the like. When they try to throw him out, they make a ghastly discovery. Meanwhile, Flora Cranley appeals to her father to do something about the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Griffin, his assistant and her sweetheart. Her father's other assistant, the cowardly Dr. Kemp, is no help. He wants her for himself. Little does Flora guess that the wild tales, from newspapers and radio broadcasts, of an invisible homicidal maniac are stories of Dr. Griffin himself, who has discovered the secret of invisibility and gone mad in the process. The action takes place in Italy and the two fall in love during the war and will stop at nothing to be together. The film also analyses Lt. Henry's feelings on war and the purpose of fighting. Starring Gary Cooper, Helen Hayes and Adolphe Menjou. One of the first anti-war movies. Little did they know what was coming up.

This was originally a serial and then was made into a movie. Interesting pre-WWII stuff here.
A mad Russian doctor is determined to take revenge on the family he believes is responsible for his daughter's death. A remake of an earlier silent serial. Starring Warner Oland, June Collyer, and Lloyd Hughes. The lights go out more than once. The phone is dead. A claw-like hand jumps out of the curtain to grab the girl. That kind of movie. An early talkie that is a lot of fun.
At his English manor, Lord Greystoke—aka Tarzan—recounts his recent adventures in Guatemala. He had been there assisting Major Martling and Ula Vale in their quest for the Green Goddess, a totem worshipped by a primitive jungle tribe inside of which was hidden a formula for a super-explosive. They had successfully wrestled this totem from the natives and were heading back to Livingston when they were attacked by Raglan, a thug sent to steal the Green Goddess and its formula for Hiram Powers' personal use, and the Goddess is seized from them. On the trail of Raglan, they had to deal with his henchmen and also a party of the primitives, sent by the High Priest to retrieve the Goddess. With the Goddess still in Raglan's hands, they were seized by the natives and Tarzan locked in a small cell with a loosely-tethered lion. Things are getting tough for Tarzan! Starring Bruce Bennett as Herman Brix, Ula Holt, and Frank Baker.

Starring Robert Livingston, Kay Hughes, and Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams. The hero here, The Eagle, is a cross between Zorro and Indiana Jones. Keeping Russians out of California was his mission.
In Kentucky just after the Civil War, the Hayden-Colby feud leads to Jed Colby being sent to prison for 15 years for murder. The Haydens head for Nevada and when Colby gets out of prison he heads there also seeking revenge. The head of the Hayden family tries to avoid more killing but the inevitable showdown has to occur, complicated by Lynn Hayden and Ellen Colby's plans to marry. Starring Randolph Scott, Esther Ralston, and Jack La Rue. Randolph Scott was always tall in the saddle.
In the Asian province of Seemang where the Bay of Bengal meets the jungle, Chandler Elliott (John St. Polis) owns a large and prosperous rubber plantation. His attractive daughter, Dorothy (Charlotte Henry), is engaged to neighboring planter Tom Banning (William Bakewell) but troubles are brewing for both plantations. When a load of rubber is put on a riverboat to be taken to port, the boat is attacked by river pirates and the crew is killed and the shipment stolen. Jim Murphy (LeRoy Mason). Elliott's plantation manager, is plotting with others to force Elliott to to sell his plantation. Adventurer Frank Hardy (Frank Buck) is determined to find out who is behind the plot. A great Frank Buck, animal collector, movie!
Disobedient donkey Spunky's pranks create havoc amongst the sheep, geese and chicks until he's publicly decried; a barnyard bully is not more appreciated than a schoolyard one. But when the livestock go a little overboard with retaliation, they invite the wrath of mommy mule. One of several Hunky and Spunky adventures in the Fleischers' "Color Classics" series.
Hunky is teaching her son Spunky how to kick properly. She has him practice with a mattress propped against a tree. Spunky befriends a family of birds who are building a nest. Spunky copies their design and builds a nest of his own. Although he is a donkey, he tries to imitate the birds in flight and falls out of his nest. A vulture kidnaps the baby bird from the nest and Spunky follows them. Spunky uses his newfound kicking abilities to send the vulture packing and return the baby bird to its parents.
A short film about a mother and her son, she teaches him life skills later on the son gets liked by a man so the young donkey can be his work slave and his mother saves him. Hunky and Spunky are two of the oddest characters ever featured in Fleischer cartoons. The two donkeys, mother and son, want nothing more than to stroll through the prairie playfully. When a cruel prospector captures Spunky, Hunky must use her donkey wits to come to his rescue. Things pick up when the prospector comes in, and it's fairly entertaining from there on. The children at the orphanage are thrilled to wake up and find plenty of new toys on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, all of them break or fall apart within a few seconds. Prof. Grampy, the inventor, passes by in his motorized sled and hears the wailing of the disappointed orphans, which brings him to the door to investigate. When he learns what is wrong, he puts on his thinking cap and quickly comes up with a plan to make everything all right. He sneaks into the kitchen through the window, takes out every pot, pan, plate, spoon, etc., and builds better toys than the kids could have dreamed of. A Dave Fleischer cartoon. Got love Professor Grampy and his invention!
A spider runs a hotel for flies where he keeps his guests captive. A pair of fly newlyweds arrive and check in. Fortunately, the husband is "flyweight champion." After a pitched battle featuring arrows (fountain pen nibs) and a machinegun (aspirins shot from a perfume atomizer), the spider winds up in a bottle of library paste. Great animation!
A pretty Chinese woman, seeking help from San Francisco detective James Lee Wong, is killed by a poisoned dart in his front hall, having time only to scrawl "Captain J" on a sheet of paper. She proves to be Princess Lin Hwa, on a secret military mission for Chinese forces fighting the Japanese invasion. Mr. Wong finds two captains with the initial J in the case, neither being quite what he seems; there's fog on the waterfront and someone still has that poison-dart gun… lookout Mr. Wong! Starring Boris Karloff, Grant Withers, and Marjorie Reynolds. Karloff is great as Mr. Wong!
