The Over the Hill Gang (1969)

Classic comedic western, Captain Oren Hayes of the Texas Rangers takes a break to visit his daughter in a neighboring town. When he arrives, he finds his daughter Hannah's husband Jeff is running for Mayor against a corrupt town boss, Nard Lundy. Lundy has no intention of allowing the free election of the honest Jeff Rose, so he has his henchmen beat them up. Hayes then calls for the help of some his old buddies in the Rangers. Upon arriving in town, they realize quickly that age has caught up with them and they must rely on their sheer wits to outsmart and defeat Lundy. Starring Walter Brennan, Edgar Buchanan, Ricky Nelson, Jack Elam, Gypsy Rose Lee, Fred Astaire, Lana Wood and Andy Devine. One of the great comedy westerns with a great cast!

Sitting Bull (1954)

Chief Sitting Bull of the Sioux tribe is forced by the Indian-hating General Custer to react with violence, resulting in the famous Last Stand at Little Bighorn. Parrish, a friend to the Sioux, tries to prevent the bloodshed, but is court-martialed for "collaborating" with the enemy. Sitting Bull, however, manages to intercede with President Grant on Parrish's behalf. Starring Dale Robertson, Mary Murphy, and J. Carrol Naish. A pretty good Western with the Man From Uncles’s Dr. Waverly!

Dan Candy’s Law (1970)

Based on an actual event, this is the tragic story of Saskatchewan fugitive Almighty Voice (Gordon Tootoosis), a Cree Indian who isarrested for stealing government livestock out of desperate hunger. Starring Donald Sutherland, Gordon Tootoosis, and Chief Dan George. Always good to see Chief Dan George in a movie!

A Bullet For Sandoval (1970)

A soldier deserts his outfit the night before a major battle, after receiving an urgent message. He heads across the border to Mexico to marry his pregnant girlfriend before she gives birth. Her father had forbidden their marriage, but the soldier is determined. Circumstances turn the soldier into an outlaw who vows vengeance on everyone involved. Starring George Hilton, Ernest Borgnine, and Alberto de Mendoza. George Hilton is a look-alike Clint Eastwood and you have to love Ernest Borgnine, he was great in Escape From New York!

Chino (1973)

Can Chino keep his horses, his land, and the woman he loves? Charles Bronson in Chino Valdez while his real-life wife, Jill Ireland stars as his girlfriend, Catherine.

The Gatling Gun (1971)

Gatling's devastating invention, and no one can stop him and his hordes. It’s up to Lieutenant Malcolm, a scout named Runner, Jim Boland the rancher, and the ingenious man nicknamed Tin Pot to put an end to the dangerous ambition of the Apache leader. Starring Guy Stockwell, Robert Fuller, and Barbara Luna. In this movie, Patrick Wayne was billed as John Wayne Jr.

It Can Be Done Amigo (1972)

An outspoken boy and a gunfighter-pimp save a drifter's life from hanging. The boy's uncle dies, leaving a house and some dry, useless land to the boy. The dying uncle has obtained the drifter's promise to help the boy get what is his. Meanwhile the gunfighter has decided that the drifter should marry his daughter after being with her previously. The two get into a series of brawls and shoot-outs until they arrive in the town and find the boy's inheritance -which turns out not to be as useless as it first appears. Starring Bud Spencer, Jack Palance, and Renato Cestiè. A good comedy-spaghetti western, sort of a side-movie to the Trinity Westerns.

Deep West (1971)

General Ramirez is fighting for the revolution of Mexico against European domination. He hires Hallelujah, a mysterious gunfighter, take down European emperor Maximilian by seizing a purse of jewels intended to be used for the purchase of weapons. This is no easy assignment as he must fight off bandits, secret agents, a fake sister, a so-called Russian prince and other scoundrels! Also known as Guns for Dollars. Starring George Hilton, Charles Southwood, and Agata Flori. George Hilton is a look-alike for Clint Eastwood. A great comedy-western!

Any Gun Can Play (1967)

The pitiless gang of the notorious Mexican bandit, Monetero, attacks a gold-laden railway convoy, unbeknownst to them, however, that the dauntless bounty hunter in black known as the "Stranger" is after them. But, shiny gold is always tempting, and as one of the thieves hides the loot, the hunter decides to team up with his prey after saving him from the gallows, and Clayton, a duplicitous bank employee, joins Monetero and the Stranger in a dangerous treasure hunt. Now, the reluctant companions are in search of a fragmented medallion that leads to the hidden treasure. Starring George Hilton, Edd Byrnes, and Gilbert Roland. You might think that the “Stranger” is Clint Eastwood, but it is his look-alike, George Hilton. A great spaghetti western along the lines of A FEW DOLLARS MORE.

Zorro Rides Again (1937)

The California-Yucatan Railroad, being built for the good of Mexico, is under siege by a gang of terrorists hoping to force its sale; no one can prove their connection to profiteer Marsden. Manuel Vega, aged co-owner, calls in the aid of his nephew James, great-grandson of the original Zorro. Alas, James seems more adept at golf than derring-do; but after he arrives, Zorro rides again! Can the black-clad man on horseback defeat a gang supplied with airplanes and machine guns? It’s a great retro-serial with Zorro against evil forces! With John Carroll and Noah Berry.

Son of Zorro (1947)

Young cavalry officer Jeff Stewart returns to his home in the west after the Civil War to find that a ring of crooked politicians has taken over the county, bleeding the citizens with 50% of value on the main trail, and protecting the rustlers that raid the cattle ranches. With the permission of the state governor and the assistance of Kate Wells, the postmistress, Jeff plans to open another trail to beat the toll. He also decides to resurrect an ancestor of his who, in a similar situation, took the law in his own hands—Zorro. With the aid of Pancho, Zorro manages to thwart the conspirators and exposes the guilty culprits. Starring George Turner, Peggy Stewart, and Roy Barcroft. A great Zorro Retro-Western with lots of whip action! Look out Indiana Jones!

A rare color episode of the Lone Ranger television series. Starring Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels, treat yourself to a brief adventure with the man who hands out silver bullets.

Powderkeg (1971)

Just before World War I, two adventurers are hired to bring back a hijacked train from Mexico. While this was a TV movie, it's pretty much as good as many theatrical Westerns of the late 60s and early 70s. The two stars, Taylor and Cole, have great chemistry and the tone is snappy with a distinctive story and a couple of unexpected twists. Luscious Luciana Paluzzi is on hand (playing a role in one of the surprises) along with Tisha Sterling and Melodie Johnson in the female department. Starring Rod Taylor, Dennis Cole, and Fernando Lamas. A great turn of the century Western!

Adventures of Red Ryder (1940)

Mesquite banker Calvin Drake plans to profit from the Santa Fe Railroad’s acquisition of right-of-way by gaining control of the land in the territory. In the ensuing war of intimidation against the ranchers, Ira Withers is killed and Red Ryder and his father, Colonel Tom Ryder, form an organization to drive the gunmen and outlaws out of the territory. Colonel Ryder is killed by One-Eye Chapin and Red vows vengeance. Sheriff Dade is in league with the Drake faction, including Ace Hanlon. The Duchess, Red’s aunt, is about to lose her ranch. Red learns of a plan to dynamite a dam providing the water supply, and saves Beth Andrews, daughter of the former sheriff, Luke Andrews who was also murdered by Drake’s men. Starring Don ‘Red’ Barry, Noah Beery, Tommy Cook. One of the great Western serials!

Yuma (1971)

Dave Harmon is a United States Marshall, who has been sent by the governor to the territory of Yuma. It seems that the law is not welcomed there; every marshall that's been sent has been chased out. Staring Clint Walker as Dave Harmon.

Navaho Joe (1966)
