A CIA team in Greece tries to capture a major drug dealer named Agathon. Based on the Cabot Cane novels of the 1960s by Alain Caillou whose books typically started with the “Assault on” in the title. This was the only one of his books that was made into a movie, financed from Greece and Australia. Assault on Agathon tells the story of a revolutionary from WW2, the mysterious Agathon who is committing terrorist acts in Greece and Albania. Nico Minardos stars as Cabot Cain, Western agent assigned to stop Agathon and locate a missing Interpol agent. Marianne Faithfull, the chanteuse also stars. Stunning Mediterranean photography adds to this fun spy thriller. It is interesting to note that a large part of the film takes place in Kosovo when times were peaceful in the seventies. Starring Nico Minardos, Nina van Pallandt, John Woodvine and Marianne Faithfull. This movie has a minor cult status with its bubble bath scene with Marianne Faithfull who is looking good in this 1976 movie.
